About the Prayer Barge
FAITH & WORK
Woven Together
“For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.”

God’s Revelation:
Every Good Work
We are made for good work. Yet for many, faith and work feel like separate worlds. The church, in practice if not in preaching, often treats discipleship as something that happens away from the workplace—as if spiritual growth requires stepping outside our daily labour, rather than discovering Christ within it.
But Jesus never asked his disciples to abandon their work. Instead, he met them in it—on fishing boats, at tax booths, in kitchens. He invited them to become his apprentices, learning to do their work with him and as he would do it. He still does.

Our Vocation: Unceasing Prayer
To live into this calling, we seek to:
Cultivate a dispersed yet connected community of worker-disciples, praying and practicing the presence of God in and through our work.
Explore and express a faith that fills the whole of life—a spirituality where prayer fuels action, and the work of our hands becomes a place of encounter with God.
Pray for, encourage, and support those who long to see their work as a place of transformation, where hearts are formed, and the Kingdom takes root in the everyday.

Our Way of Being:
Leading Lives Worthy of the Lord
Formation happens in the small choices, the daily habits, the ways we move through our work. As apprentices of Jesus, we seek to cultivate:
Generosity in the face of greed
Diligence in the face of constant toil
Humility in the face of pride
Contentment in the face of envy
Patience in the face of frustration
A Vision for a Different Kind of Work.
We long to see everyday work recognised as holy ground—a place where Christians grow closer to Jesus by how they lead, serve, and create in the spaces they’re already in. Through prayer and service, we aim to shape a world where workers, businesses, and local communities reflect God’s presence in everything they do.
To live this out, we cultivate three things:
A Rhythm of Prayer
We’re learning the power of unceasing prayer—the kind that doesn’t just happen in churches but in offices, cafés, and construction sites. The kind that interrupts and transforms.
A Way of Being
The world of work is often driven by greed, pride, and exhaustion. We choose instead to cultivate habits that shape us into worker-disciples—apprentices of Jesus in the workplace.
A Call to Work Differently
Jesus invites us to be His workplace apprentices. Not by quitting our jobs and running for the hills, but by learning to do our work as He would do it. With joy. With purpose. With a deep, unshakable awareness of the Kingdom breaking in.
This isn’t just a place to retreat.
It’s a place from which to be sent.
A space to listen, pray, and discover how to bring the Kingdom into the work of our hands.
